Lori the Eel
Lori the Eel is a puppetry performance for children aged 4+ inspired by the life of the European eel, which travels thousands of kilometres from the Sargasso Sea to the rivers of Europe. The audience sits inside a changing underwater landscape and follows Lori's journey through oceans, rivers and hidden waterways. Along the way they encounter large and small puppets, from a giant whale to tiny shimmering plankton, and discover the creatures that share Lori's world.
The project is developed in collaboration between Puppetry Theatre SAMPO, Komunitní centrum Žižkostel, Studio Alta and collective HoME z.s. The same production will be created in two language versions, one for Helsinki and one for Prague.
The project is created by director Ana Nežmah (CZ/SI), dramaturg Aljoša Lovrić Krapež (CZ/SI), dramaturgical assistant Lara Kaiser (GE), sound designer Ivo Barić (FI), scenographers Pedro Gramegna Ardiles (CZ/CL) and Karolína Kotrbová (CZ).
The Czech version will be performed by Arman Kupelyan (CZ/AM) and Anastázie Dobrodinská (CZ), and the Finnish version by Elina Vehkaoja (FI) and Satu Lankinen (FI).
